Songs To Dance To Vol 70

1. Chic – My Forbidden Love (Addison Groove Edit)
Addison Groove can always be counted on to bring a fresh update with his edits and remixes. Here he takes a classic disco tune and refreshes it for the modern dancefloor.

2. Star Slinger – Always Be Motivated By Love
A nice little tune that Star Slinger put out to spread the message of love in the wake of the shooting in Orlando. <3

3. CRi – Pulse
Cannot stop listening to this EP that I stumbled upon (thanks to Tokimonsta reposting it on SC). The perfect song for a summer evening: warm, beautiful, with a tint of melancholy.

4. PBR Streetgang – 12.32 (Fort Romeau Remix)
I’m a huge fan of Fort Romeau’s remixes. While firmly planted in the present moment, there’s always something timeless about his stuff.

5. Sofi Tukker – Drinkee (Vintage Culture & Slow Motion Remix)
Such a summer block party song. Time to jump!

6. Malaa – Diamonds
I love everything Malaa has been doing, he is the master of g-house (gangsta house) right now.

7. Solemn Eye – Dusky Cloud
A lovely deep house tune. Dreamyyy

8. Speaking Minds – Warp
Best for late nights or under the influence

9. Theo Kottis – I Won’t Forget
Beautiful!

10. PillowTalk & Soul Clap – Love Train (ft. Greg Paulus & Crew Love)
And another edit of a classic disco tune to round off this week’s mixtape.

S2D2 Vol 66

1. Theophilus London – Stay

After a two year hiatus, it’s good to hear a new Theophilus track — and there’s a full album coming! Pretty sure that’s Kid Cudi’s luscious voice on the chorus, always a good addition. A simple tune, very summery, very New York, and you’ll definitely be hearing it again.

2. Pearson Sound – XLB

Someone is having fun with their synthesizers! Loving the way this new tune rolls through its different phases. And that drop smack in the middle opens up the track into a club banger. Really unique stuff.

3. Boys Noize – Rock The Bells

Boys Noize just dropped a new album, Mayday, and surprise, it’s excellent. He continues to do weird new shit, stretching out in every direction like a funky octopus, touching tentacles to every style of music. No one sounds like Boys Noize and I love his commitment to that. This is a fun track, I loooooove the drop.

4. Gramatik – Bluestep

Can’t really say enough about the quality of stuff Gramatik has been putting out for the few years. This is an old one but I had to stick in there. Can’t have summertime without Gramatik.

5. Jon Phonics – Nagasaki VIP

Few things are better than that minimal trap that hits hard affff.

6. Cirez D – Century of the Mouse

Eric Prydz just released two new tracks on his techno alias Cirez D — always a source of hard-hitting tunes. It’s the progressive Prydz we know and love, just a little darker and a little less PLUR.

7. Tenant – Run Run Devices

Listen to this on headphones.

8. Ashworth – Lost (Matt Karmil Remix)

Matt Karmil has such an interesting touch, his productions always have some unique quality that I can’t quite put my finger on. This is one to get lost in, for sure.

9. FFX – Promnite (Star Slinger Remix)

The perfect laid-back summer tune.

10. Flamingosis – Believe In Me

Pure vibes ✌️

S2D2 Vol. 51

I think it’s pretty cool that out of 10 songs, 8 of these are original tracks. While I love remixes to the moon and back, all these original songs coming out show the true strength of the electronic talent these days.

This playlist is 11 tracks because I had to include the Soulwax remix of David Bowie’s “Heroes.” There’s not much to say about the man that hasn’t been said in the past week, so all I’m gonna say is that he was a special man and he will live on forever through the music that he inspired and the genres he affected and the way he made us feel.

He gave us permission to be weird when we needed it most, and it changed the world.
